Earlier today Senator Dodd spoke out in opposition to retroactive immunity. He focused on the Bush administration's requests for immunity for those companies who may have broken the law. Dodd highlights the fact that these companies knew what the law was and they were not represented by "first year law students."

This bill degrades our constitutional rights. This hands the Terrorist the victory they seek by collapsing the unshakable three branches of government into a unsupported monolith with no historical foundation. Thus in our terror we mirror Bin Ladin's dark vision of governance. Insane with fear we hand over what megatons of explosives should never take from us, offering our Constitution to the wind as a flag surrendering
