Later this morning Senator Dodd will speak on the floor of the Senate in opposition to retroactive immunity. The speech is expected to start around 11 AM and can be viewed on C-SPAN 2.
Following Senator Dodd's speech there will be a cloture vote on the motion to proceed to the Intelligence Committee version of FISA legislation. After that vote Senator Dodd will be holding a press conference to talk about how he will continue to fight against retroactive immunity and stand up for the Constitution and the rule of law.
Please note - this is all going to take place ahead of a filibuster, which is expected to start later today.

I'm watching too. Chris Dodd makes me proud to be from Connecticut. He is really showing how a man, a Democrat, dedicated to public service acts when answering the call of conscience.

Matt - thanks for noting that the fillibuster is still planned for later this afternoon. I guess I don't know how all of this works, but when I saw Senator Dodd yield the floor during the debate, I thought all was lost. I'm still hopeful now that the Senate Intelligence bill will be defeated, with the help of Senators Feingold and Kennedy, at least. Any word on the other presidential candidates?

You are the only presidential candidate that realizes the Constitution comes before personal ambitions or personal adjendas.
All politicians say that they support the Constitution, it's times like these when we find out who will stand up and do so. The true stripes are showing on those other candidates!
I have called both of my senators to let them know that EXPECT them to stand up for the Constitution and that I will work hard to defeat them if they don't!

It explains what the 3 branches of government are like now-a-days, how they're broken, how they got there over the past couple of decades, and what needs to happen to repair them to be an effective system of checks-and-balances again.
