Greetings from Waterloo! My name is Kelley Stieh and I lived in NH for five years before moving to Iowa to be a field organizer for Chris Dodd. Iowa is a completely different world for me except for one fact; they are both the first in the nation for Primaries and Caucuses. Because of this status, two schools, Wartburg College in Waverly, IA and my alma mater, Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH, have joined together to create a program called “The First in the Nation Project”. The students involved in this program host various speakers, and travel to both states to learn about the different styles of voting and politicking that take place.
The program was lucky enough to have Senator Dodd come to Wartburg and speak as part of their series on the 21st of October. The event, which was simulcast at Franklin Pierce, was moderated by Professor Fred Waldstein, the co-director of the First in the Nation Project; many people, students and people from the greater Waverly area, came out to hear the Senator speak about his book and then ask him a variety of questions about issues and about book itself. Senator Dodd happily obliged to all questions which were coming from the audience at Wartburg and at Franklin Pierce. The Senator read some of his favorite letters from the book and exclaimed at one point, “This is how a letter should be written!”
The night was a huge success. Senator Dodd keeps impressing people day in and day out with his ability to keep an audience captivated with his speeches and enlightened ideas about how he feels this country should be run. He never backs down to the tough questions and continues to prove to the nation that he should be the next President of the United States of America.

Kelley is absolutely right, and I’ve witnessed it myself. Senator Dodd continues to wow audiences with his candor and conviction out here in Iowa. There’s no doubt about it—momentum is building and more and more voters are turning to Chris Dodd for REAL results and solid leadership, at a time when those two things couldn’t be more important. He demonstrated his ability to lead during Tuesday night’s debate and he’s continuing to do it on the ground in Iowa. Now the question is simple: Will you join Chris Dodd in bringing true leadership back to the White House?
