CONNECTICUT AFL-CIO UNION RECOMMENDS DODD FOR NATIONAL ENDORSEMENT

Release text:

HARTFORD - The Connecticut AFL-CIO last week recommended that the National AFL-CIO support Chris Dodd in his Presidential candidacy. Saying that Dodd was the candidate they trusted to produce results for America's middle class, the Connecticut AFL-CIO cited Dodd's record of getting things done, including increasing the minimum wage, protecting collective bargaining rights, and ensuring secure retirements for our workers. Furthermore, they noted Dodd's longstanding efforts on behalf of working families, including authoring the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Dodd received the official endorsement of the International Association of Fire Fighters, part of the AFL-CIO, last month.

"Chris Dodd is the candidate we trust to deliver results for America's middle class," said Connecticut AFL-CIO President John Olsen. "We have seen his true commitment to our issues in his over thirty years of service to the state of Connecticut, and we are sure that he would make a difference for workers across the country from his seat in the Oval Office. His unique ability to bring people together combined with his experience and proven track record, make him the ideal candidate to put our country back on track."
