I am supporting Chris Dodd because I think this presidential race is fundamentally about character. Of all the candidates Chris Dodd stands out when looked at from the perspective of character.
Nothing less than the identity and survivability of the American soul is at stake here. More than any time in my experience this great country needs to know how our next president will react to known and as yet unknown critically important international and domestic issues. There is no better gauge to future conduct and reaction to challenge than personal character.
Of course, experience and past conduct are worth looking at and Chris Dodd looks great by those standards. But when the chips are down it is the presidential character that makes the difference. Those who think our nation is at a critically important crossroad should look at character as the foundation upon which to base their choice of new leadership. Reasonable people might differ, but when I size up the Democratic presidential candidates against the standard of personal character, Chris Dodd clearly stands well above the pack.
