I am excited that Chris is running for President, and fully support his
candidacy. There is a saying in Connecticut - in Dodd we trust, and with
good reason. Chris Dodd has fought for middle class families throughout his
career, working through three presidents and two vetoes to pass one of the
most important pieces of health care legislation since Medicare, the Family
and Medical Leave Act. In the Senate, Chris is known as the 'Children's
Senator' for his efforts on behalf of children, including improving and
expanding Head Start so that more kids can get a quality education. On the
Iraq war, Chris Dodd is leading now, and he's put forward the only
responsible plan to bring our troops home safely and quickly.Chris also has the best plan to end our dependence on foreign oil, and a
plan to provide affordable and truly universal health care to all Americans
within four years of taking the oath of office. Frankly, on every issue,
Chris Dodd stands above the rest of the pack, and I know that once people
get to know Chris Dodd, Americans will follow Connecticut's lead and say,
unequivocally, it's Chris Dodd we trust to get this country back on track,
as the next President of the United States!On a personal note, when I was much younger, campaigning to go to the state
legislature from my town of East Hartford, there was no more important
supporter and mentor than Chris. The Connecticut political landscape is
filled with people like me, those who serve, those who have served, all so
grateful for the guidance and encouragement Chris has provided.
