President Dodd - Sounds Good to Me

With such a talented field of presidential candidates on the Democratic side, sometimes we forget that there are real differences between the candidates. One of the areas where there is a clear distinction is Iraq. Senator Dodd has taken a clear stand that he will get all of our troops out of Iraq by the end of his first term as president. On Saturday, volunteers for Senator Dodd got together in Laconia to canvass and the issue of Iraq is something that clearly resonates with voters. Iraq is the most important issue to voters in Laconia, as well as throughout New Hampshire, and Senator Dodd's clarity on the issue sets him apart from the other candidates.

Pat Clark, New Hampshire Chair of Veterans for Dodd, had a great letter to the editor in today's Concord Monitor (President Dodd – Sounds Good to Me) that talks about why Senator Dodd's background in the Peace Corps and his commitment to upholding the rule of law make him uniquely qualified to be president at this time.

The Dodd Squad in Merrimack County and the Lakes Region has an exciting week ahead. We'll be spreading Senator Dodd's message through canvassing and phone banking all week so call the Concord office at 226-3660 to find out how to get involved.

Sunday night, a small group from the Dodd campaign convened at a friend’s apartment to watch the last game of this Red Sox-Yankees series. It was about as good as a game early in the season can get, featuring lead changes, a lot of scoring and some great defensive plays. And as the Red Sox set a franchise record by belting their fourth consecutive home run, the Dodd staff was just trying relax after four jam-packed days of campaigning with Senator Dodd.

Dodd Addresses Challenges Facing The American Education System

Senator Chris Dodd addresses the educational challenges the United States faces in the near future. "Global competition," he says, "is obviously something that is here. The children of Columbia and Charleston and Greenville and Spartenburg, the children of Hartford and Bridgeport and New London, Connecticut are not going to be competing with each other." "They are going to be competing with children in Beijing and Shanghai, in Johannesburg and Sydney and Moscow. The sooner we recognize this, the more important it will be and the better it will be for all of us."
