No response yet from other presidential candidates about allowing the format of the Univision debate to allow candidates to respond to questions in a language of their choice. John Aravosis of AmericaBlog and Spazeboy have great posts up about the debate controversy; both strongly call for a format that doesn't limit the opportunity for Democratic presidential candidates to speak directly to Spanish-speaking voters. The 2007 Take Back America conference is happening in Washington today through Wednesday. Tim Tagaris and myself will be in attendance listening in on panels and mingling with bloggers on Blogger Boulevard. If you're at TBA, come find us and introduce yourself. We've even started a Facebook event for our presence at TBA -- RSVP now! For those that can't make it to TBA, look forward for some posts, pictures, and videos over the next couple of days from the conference. Whither D-SPAN? As some of you may have noticed, the all-access video channel that we've been promoting as D-SPAN has undergone a rebranding to DTV. My colleague Christy Setzer notes, "Sure, we'll miss D-SPAN. But we were even sadder to have to reject DNN and DSNBC." Expect more news over the coming days as we approach the launch of D-SPAN DTV. On Sunday I was a guest on "Meet the Bloggers," a show on BlogTalkRadio hosted by Blue Indiana's Joh Padgett. Sam Hasler of the excellent blog Trifles from Anderson, Indiana was also on the show. We had a great discussion about the Dodd campaign's use of technology to provide voters a window into the campaign, as well as how other campaigns are using web video and a rundown of recent polling data. Thanks again to Joh for having me on!
