President Dodd - Sounds Good to Me

Scott Stephanou's picture

With such a talented field of presidential candidates on the Democratic side, sometimes we forget that there are real differences between the candidates. One of the areas where there is a clear distinction is Iraq. Senator Dodd has taken a clear stand that he will get all of our troops out of Iraq by the end of his first term as president. On Saturday, volunteers for Senator Dodd got together in Laconia to canvass and the issue of Iraq is something that clearly resonates with voters. Iraq is the most important issue to voters in Laconia, as well as throughout New Hampshire, and Senator Dodd's clarity on the issue sets him apart from the other candidates.

Pat Clark, New Hampshire Chair of Veterans for Dodd, had a great letter to the editor in today's Concord Monitor (President Dodd – Sounds Good to Me) that talks about why Senator Dodd's background in the Peace Corps and his commitment to upholding the rule of law make him uniquely qualified to be president at this time.

The Dodd Squad in Merrimack County and the Lakes Region has an exciting week ahead. We'll be spreading Senator Dodd's message through canvassing and phone banking all week so call the Concord office at 226-3660 to find out how to get involved.

News from the Capital

We had another exciting week for the Dodd campaign in the Concord area and the Lakes Region. Our staff and supporters were out in full-force at Belknap County Democrats Doris "Granny D" Haddock Evening in Gilford. Over one hundred Democrats turned out to listen to Granny D. Senator Dodd's Belknap County Chair, Cinde Warmington, delivered a rousing speech that rallied everyone in the room. The great attendance and the energy in the room was evidence of how far Democrats in Belknap County have gone in turning that county blue.

The campaign is looking forward to opening up a regional field office in Concord in the coming days. Our supporters have been great in donating supplies and the office is coming together quite nicely.

We're gearing up for an exciting week in the Concord area and across New Hampshire. There are a number of ways for those interested in spreading Senator Dodd's message of proven leadership to get involved. We'll all be headed up to Dartmouth College on Wednesday in support of Senator Dodd in the debate. We'll also be running phone banks and canvasses throughout Merrimack County and the Lakes Region all week. I can be reached at 603-668-DODD (3633) if you would like to find out how to help out the campaign.

This week in Concord

As we move through the middle of September, the Dodd campaign in Concord and the Lakes Region is picking up steam. Our staff and great group of volunteers spent the weekend knocking on doors and talking with New Hampshire voters who are looking beyond the hype and are ready for Senator Dodd’s combination of vision and experience.

After a balmy summer, canvassing for the Dodd campaign this last weekend reminded us that fall is approaching in New Hampshire. The leaves are just beginning to change and the weather was perfect for going door-to door and spreading Senator Dodd’s message. We were thrilled to have the chair of the Concord City Democrats, Erika Thorsell, out knocking on doors for Senator Dodd along with a great group of volunteers.

We were proud to recently announce our Belknap County Chair, Cinde Warmington. Cinde is the chair of the Gilford Town Democratic Committee and is lawyer at Sulloway & Hollis. She was instrumental in John Kerry’s success in 2004 and she will be a tremendous asset to our campaign. The Concord and Lakes Region Team is excited to be working with Cinde to get the best candidate into the White House.

The Dodd Squad in the Concord Region has another exciting week ahead we look forwarded to seeing more New Hampshire voters out in the field. We will be running nightly phone banks as well as more canvassing this weekend. If you are interested in joining us any night this week, please give me a call at 668-DODD.

Hello from Concord!

Scott Stephanou's picture

My name is Scott Stephanou and I am the Concord Regional Field Director for Senator Dodd’s New Hampshire Campaign. Every week, I’ll be blogging about our campaign here in Concord and throughout Merrimack County and the Lakes Region. Today, I’d thought I’d introduce all of you to the staff and provide with some general information about Senator Dodd’s Concord Team.

First let me just say that for me, New Hampshire is the most exciting place to be for presidential politics and I’ve had a blast so far. I’ve enjoyed getting the opportunity to go to meetings, listening to what Democratic activists in New Hampshire have to say, and in doing so, learning a great deal about the New Hampshire primary and the concerns of New Hampshire voters. It’s been amazing to watch the growth in support for Senator Dodd since I started in January, and these next few months are sure to be exciting as we approach Primary Day. As voters become more engaged, I have no doubt they will see the same qualities that I see in Senator Dodd that make him the best candidate for president.

Now onto the introductions:

I am originally from Senator Dodd’s home state of Connecticut and I graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2006 with a degree in political science. I joined the Dodd campaign very early on in January because I knew Senator Dodd was the best candidate to lead our country and repair the damage caused by the Bush administration. I’ve always admired his work as a senator and I saw Senator Dodd as the candidate with the best combination of experience, accomplishments, and vision to get our country back on track.
