    Dodd speaking at a Peace Corps event in 2001A returned Peace Corps volunteer, Dodd authors a joint resolution commending current and former Peace Corps volunteers on the occasion of its 30th anniversary. The resolution is signed into law on March 1.

    Dodd cosponsors the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act of 1991, which increases the amount of credit available from the U.S. Department of Treasury to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from $5 billion to $30 billion. The bill includes the Truth in Savings Act, which Dodd cosponsored in 1990, which requires the disclosure of interest rates and terms of accounts. The bill is signed into law on December 19.
